A USDA undersecretary says except for politics, the sticking points standing in the way of farm bill completion are small. Bill Northey says the farm bill is hung up primarily on partisan and regional differences, as well as those differences between the House and Senate. There are some differences in conservation program details and of course, nutrition program work requirements, Northey told the audience at the Ag Outlook Forum in Kansas City, Thursday.
“I don’t believe that at the end of the day this is going to stop it from happening,” said Northey.
