USDA Undersecretary Bill Northey says the Dairy Margin Protection Program has generated thousands of new participants. “We had over twenty-thousand producers that had signed up for the Margin Protection Program, which is about five-thousand of those producers, over five-thousand of those producers signed up Thursday and Friday.”
Northey told reporters Tuesday that most of America’s milk is now covered by the MPP program. “Fifty-six-point-six percent of production is covered in signups that folks have had at various levels.
