USDA Under Secretary for Farm
Production and Conservation has updated two House ag subcommittees on the programs
in place to assist farmers. Bill Northey says, “This past year has tested the
resilience of America’s farmers. Crop insurance, supplemental natural disaster
assistance programs and short-term trade mitigation programs have helped producers
manage those challenges.”
Northey says the Market
Facilitation Program has up to 14 and a half Billion dollars for direct
payments to farmesr affected by unjustified tariff retaliation, “As of the
beginning of this week we have more than 346,000 applications and $4-Billion
have been paid to producers.”
Signup for the latest MFP began
July 29th and runs through December sixth.
