Farm Service Agency offices opened Thursday, a couple of days ahead of
other federal offices, to do business with their farmer customers.
“It’s really nice to have folks up and going,” said Bill Northey, Undersecretary
for Farm Production and Conservation at the USDA.
“We heard they accepted a lot of applications, millions of dollars’ worth of
payments for the Market Facilitation Program (MFP),” said Northey, in comments
provided by the USDA.
