Northwest Minnesota farmer “big advocate” of rotational grazing

A farmer in northwest Minnesota is a strong believer in rotational grazing.

Mikayla Tabert raises beef cattle and grows several different crops near Red Lake Falls.

“I’m definitely a big advocate for rotational grazing, and you can do it in whatever context that works. We love to have one-day moves as much as possible, but during the winter we go to three-day moves just for labor and energy savings.”

She tells Brownfield rotational grazing provides soil health and crop nutrient benefits.
