NPPC pleased with new EPA water rule

The National Pork Producers Council is pleased with the EPA’s

replacement for the WOTUS rule. Michael Formica tells Brownfield it clarifies

what waters are NOT regulated, “One of those features which is important for us

would be ditches, farm ditches, as well as the farmland itself.”

Formica says President Trump has led the way on this, “The

president, to his credit, made a campaign promise that he was going to fix the

situation and they’ve come up with the Navigable Waters Protection Rule that

seems to do just that.”

He says the new Navigable Waters Replacement Rule is written in a way that would be defensible in court challenges.
