An Illinois farmer says he got lucky with some much-needed rain last week, “We were very, very dry going into last week and we got some rain and hail about a week or 10 days ago.”
Lou Lameroux farms in Carroll County, in Northwest Illinois says he’s also had enough dry weather to make good progress, “We’re pretty much done in this area. We finished up beans last week. Had a little delay after finally getting rain but we started corn on April the 23rd and finished about the first of May.” He tells Brownfield he hopes to keep getting well-timed rains for his crops.
