The petroleum industry says the Trump administration’s proposed
biofuels policy change is arbitrary and further distorts the fuel marke.t
A statement from the leaders of the American Petroleum Institute and American Fuel & PetroChemicals Manufacturers says the administration is “playing politics” with the nation’s fuel system by “increasing an already onerous biofuels mandate.”
They call it a misguided attempt to reallocate volumes of
biofuels which would “punish companies working to comply with the RFS.”
The announcement Friday was applauded by ethanol, corn and biodiesel
groups but with caution.
