On the search for extra farm bill funds

An ag lobbyist says it will be challenging for Congress to get additional money to fund what is projected to be most expensive farm bill in history.

The Congressional Budget Office estimates the 2023 Farm Bill to cost $1.5 trillion over the next 10 years, not including any new programs.

Randy Russell with the Russell Group tells Brownfield the House and Senate Agriculture Committees are still evaluating farm bill priorities, including a reference price boost and trade program updates, trying to figure out the funding.
