U.S. Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue did not have much to say when asked about the Green New Deal during a House Ag Committee hearing Wednesday.
“Aside from giving our cattle Pepto-Bismol, I’m not sure what we can do.”
Perdue was referencing a part of the legislation introduced
by two freshmen members of Congress that calls out methane emissions from
cattle.
Farm groups like the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association
have been critical of the proposal.
