Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue says overall the second market facilitation program trade aid package has been well accepted.
“Overwhelmingly, the comments we’ve heard on the sign-up have been positive.”
Perdue is advising farmers not to plan for another MFP in 2020.
“It is not something we want to become addicted to. It was a measure that President Trump felt was necessary.”
But, Perdue
says he recalls giving farmers the same advice for 2019 and events over the
next few months will help determine if a third MFP is needed.
