Perdue Tries to Calm Farmer Tariff Terrors

Commentary.

The Farm Bill sailed to approval in the Senate this week, forwarded on an 86-11 vote – despite all “nay” votes cast by Republicans – and the announcement by Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy of his July 31 retirement likely means the high court will gain a member more disposed to the realities of agriculture and the strict reading of environment, not to mention labor and economic law, than the court just adjourned.
