The biofuels industry is hopeful a permanent solution for year-round E15 is near.
Executive director Brian Werner says the Minnesota Biofuels Association was among several state renewable energy groups recently on a call with EPA to press for approval of a petition filed by eight Midwestern governors that would place E10 and E15 on equal regulatory footing during summer months.
“Hopefully they’ll have a proposed rule out sometime in the next couple of months, which will give us enough lead time to get it finalized before the 2023 summer driving season.”
He tells Brownfield progress on the Governors’ petition should provide additional leverage for those pushing for year-round E15.
