Lincoln, Nebraska is the latest U.S. city to be targeted with an anti-meat, pro-vegan billboard sponsored by the group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
The billboard features a Holstein cow saying, “I’m Me, not Meat. See the Individual. Go Vegan”.
PETA spokeswoman Amber Canavan says cows are “individuals”, with unique personalities.
“They have their own wants and needs,” she says. “Some cows are more friendly. Some cows are more shy.”
Canavan says the organization doesn’t shy away from proclaiming its vegan message in the heart of beef country.
