Planted acreage in 2020 could increase as a result of prevented planting in 2019

There could be an increase in planted acreage in 2020 due to the record amount of prevented planting acres this year, according to the latest Purdue University/CME Group Ag Economy Barometer.

the director of the Purdue Center for Commercial Agriculture.

“Fourteen percent of the corn farmers in our survey said that they plan to increase their acreage next year,” he says.

Twelve percent

of soybean growers said they would increase their acreage.
