The end of planting season is near for a Wisconsin dairy farmer who also does custom planting.

Brody Stapel from Cedar Grove has been busy planting for other farms but is focusing on his own corn acres now. “We’re planting 775 and we’ve got 710 in or something like that. That’s corn. We’re waiting for manure to go out so we can finish up the corn on first-cutting alfalfa, so the hay is coming off, we’re putting manure on, and planting the rest to corn.”
Stapel says he also planted about 840 acres of soybeans for himself and his neighbors, and it’s time to harvest first-crop hay.
