Above-normal temperatures and below-normal rainfall gave way to severe weather and tornadoes across Kentucky last week.
The USDA says corn and soybean planting is ramping up with five percent of corn and four percent of soybeans in the ground, both ahead of last year and the five-year average. Fifty-two percent of tobacco transplants have also been seeded.
Winter wheat condition was reported at 68 percent good to excellent with two percent jointed.
