Corn planting is underway for a southwest Iowa farmer.
Duane Aistrope says a string of 70-to-80 degree days has provided an excellent planting window.
“This year our conditions are very favorable because we are really dry down here,” he said. “I’m planting in moist dirt, but if you go down very far it’s pretty dry down below where I’m planting the seed.”
He tells Brownfield it will be critical to have a good 2023 crop year.
