The U.S. Championship Cheese Contest will have 2,249 entries competing for the top prize next month.
Contest manager Kirsten Strohmenger says 197 makers of cheese, butter, yogurt, and dry dairy ingredients from 35 states have submitted entries.
The biennial contest is hosted by the Wisconsin Cheesemakers Association on February 21st and 22nd at the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and the preliminary rounds of judging are open to the public.
