The South Dakota Cattlemen’s Association set policy priorities during its annual meeting this week. President Eric Jennings tells Brownfield eminent domain policy is important and with a new pipeline coming to eastern South Dakota, existing policy will be referenced.
“We try to have a general policy that it’s fine for members to sign onto the pipeline company, allowing it to go through. And for those who don’t want to, we want to make sure the right of eminent domain is being used properly and that it’s not just used for the benefit of a private company.”
Jennings says cattlemen updated language opposing unfair taxes on agriculture.
