A recent survey shows producer sentiment is up slightly despite trade disputes and low commodity prices.
Ag economist Jim Mintert says the Purdue University/CME Group Ag Economy Barometer rose two points to 143 because farmers are more optimistic about the current ag economy.
“That was a little bit surprising in light of the decline that was taking place with respect to major commodity prices especially corn and soybeans,” he says. “However our survey was done mid-month before a large portion of the decline had really taken place.”
He tells Brownfield farmers are less certain about the future of the ag economy.
