The wake of destruction left by African Swine Fever on the world’s pig population has had scientists racing to develop a successful vaccine.
Dr. Douglas Gladue, a senior scientist at the Agricultural Research Service, USDA’s Plum Island Animal Disease Center, tells Brownfield a team of researchers has developed a new vaccine that has been very successful in early tests. “That’s kind of why we have been pushing this vaccine candidate right now,” he says.
