Hoosier farmers will learn how to improve their crop marketing and financial management skills at eight upcoming workshops from the Purdue Center for Commercial Agriculture and Purdue Extension.
Purdue University’s Jim Mintert says the workshops are
especially important as farmers continue to face tight margins.
“We think this is an opportunity to make a modest
improvement in your returns on your crops,” he says. “A modest improvement on a
per bushel basis is enough in many cases to shift you over from perhaps a
break-even situation to a profitable situation.”
He tells Brownfield the other session will help farmers talk to their ag lender.
