Across the Corn Belt, mild, dry weather prevails.  Despite patchy snow on the ground, many Midwestern producers continue to perform farm-maintenance activities, amid relatively dry soil-moisture profiles and near- or above-normal temperatures.  Tuesday’s Midwestern temperatures will remain in a relatively narrow range, peaking near 30°F in the Red River Valley of the North and around 45°F in the middle Mississippi Valley.

On the Plains, mild, dry weather prevails.  Despite lingering snow on the ground across the northern half of the Plains, national snow coverage stood at 20.3% on the morning of January 1.
