Lingering dryness is mostly focused across the upper Midwest, where Minnesota led the Corn Belt on August 13 with topsoil moisture rated 58% very short to short. Although the drought situation in the southwestern Corn Belt has improved, Missouri continued to lead the U.S. on August 13 with 36% of its corn and 26% of its soybeans rated in very poor to poor condition.
