Wally Tyner, the James and Lois Ackerman Professor of Ag Economics at Purdue passed away after a brief illness Saturday.
Tyner joined the Purdue
faculty in 1977 after earning his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Texas Christian
University and his master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of
Maryland. He served as the head of Ag Economics at Purdue from 1989 to 2002.
Purdue Dean of Agriculture
Karen Plaut says Tyner was an invaluable member of the Purdue community who
lived the land-grant mission every day of his career.
