President Trump is ready to proceed with tariffs on 200 billion dollars more in Chinese goods–a move that could come this week, according to a Wall Street Journal report.
News of the tariff plan comes just days after U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin proposed a new round of trade talks with China. The Chinese last week said they welcomed that invitation, but the Journal reports the effort to arrange new talks could now be in jeopardy if new tariffs are announced.
