A southwest Minnesota farmer is relieved the new farm bill changes the way county yields are calculated in the Commodity Title.
Bob Worth of Lake Benton says he’s been asking for Risk Management Agency (RMA) numbers instead of the National Ag Statistics Service (NASS) for years.
“We have to tell our crop insurance exactly what we produced on our farms, so they will use true numbers. When NASS (surveyed), they would just call between 20 and 30 farmers in the county and ask them what their yields were.”
Worth says he didn’t trust the NASS numbers.
