A central Iowa farmer suggests the planting season has been less than ideal.
Corey Hillebo grows corn and soybeans near Polk City.
“Been a little rocky start to the spring. Weather-wise, obviously I think everyone knows it was pretty cool (in) April besides three days there around the 12th through the 14th. Then we had some planter issues, but other than that things are running pretty good.”
He planted soybeans first because of the cool temperatures and tells Brownfield 90 percent of the crop is in.
