The U.S. Supreme Court has chosen to re-list the case regarding California’s Proposition 12.
National Pork Producers Council CEO Bryan Humphreys tells Brownfield while they are disappointed in the high court’s decision, the case has not been denied.
“Our hope was that they would hear the case,” he says. “They’re reconsidering it this coming Friday and so hopefully we hear something next Monday about the court choosing to take this case up and hear it on its merits.”
NPPC and American Farm Bureau filed the case last year against the proposition which includes strict hog housing regulations for producers across the country who sell pork to California.
