
The South Dakota Agricultural Foundation presented its
annual Building Rural Communities and Ag Innovators Youth Education grants. Twenty-one
grants totaling $29,000 were awarded in support of innovative youth ag
education programs and rural community projects.
Projects this year include building gardens and a greenhouse
to teach hydrocycle aeroponic plant systems, education sessions on soil erosion
and a State Fair Ag Adventure Center.
Also included is establishing historical content on commodities,
providing meals and blankets for a hospital and assisted living facility,
renovating 4-H fairgrounds and implementing ag youth safety programs.
