A cow-calf producer from eastern South Dakota says he has adapted his cattle marketing plan due to the weather unknowns this year.

“I’d normally have a couple thousand calves contracted for fall delivery and at this point, I haven’t done any because I didn’t know if I would have any forage. That’s changed in the last three weeks or so,” says Wilkinson. “In the beef industry, that’s prevalent.
