Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or below-normal temperatures in the Desert Southwest and much of the eastern U.S., while hotter-than-normal weather will prevail in southern Florida and most areas from the Pacific Coast to the Mississippi Valley.
Meanwhile, near- or above-normal rainfall in the West should contrast with drier-than-normal conditions across much of the central and eastern U.S., including the central and southern Plains, Ohio Valley, Midwest, and mid-South.
