The heads of the Senate Ag Committee have introduced bipartisan legislation to increase support for veteran farmers.
Chairman Pat Roberts of Kansas and Ranking Member Debbie Stabenow of Michigan’s Farmer Veteran Opportunity Act of 2018 provides more resources for all veterans who are currently or beginning to work in agriculture.
The bill would increase eligibility for veterans across eight existing initiatives including risk management, loan and training programs.
