A settlement has been finalized for Native American farmers and ranchers, stemming back to a civil rights case against the USDA.
The reported $266 Million dollars will go to the new Native American Agriculture Fund. The class action case was settled for more than 600-Million-dollars but fewer people than expected made successful claims.
The Washington Post says the fund leaders will decide how to allocate the money.
The suit was brought against the USDA for neglect and discrimination in loan programs against Native American farmers between 1981 and 1999.
