Wisconsin’s severe weather took its toll on crops as well as the land and buildings last week. The southern half of the state received up to 12 inches of rain and 16 confirmed tornadoes within 24 hours, and many fields remain saturated. Flooding was reported in nearly every county last week. USDA reporters in Vernon County say many crops and pastures are covered with storm debris or are entirely wiped out.
Statewide, corn is about eight days ahead of average with 86% at dough stage and 54% is dented.
