Slight week-to-week improvements for Kentucky crops

Crop conditions improved slightly as Kentucky experienced below-normal temperatures and above-normal precipitation.

Corn is rated 60% good to excellent with 8% of the crop silking.  Soybeans are 93% planted, with 83% emerged, 8% blooming, and 66% rated good to excellent.  Some of the late-planted soybeans that have missed recent rains have struggled to germinate.

Winter wheat is 51% harvested. 

The tobacco crop is 94% set and 75% is rated good to excellent.
