President Trump approved South Dakota’s request for a third
Presidential Disaster Declaration to cover damage from severe storms,
tornadoes, and flooding that occurred mostly in July.
The declaration allows federal money to be used for infrastructure damage
recovery in several West River and East River counties as well as the Cheyenne
River and the Lower Brule Indian Reservations. Weather damage in that
three-week stretch is estimated at $2.5 million.
