Harvest is still a week or more away from southwest Iowa farmer Carl Jardon.
“On beans, there’s still quite a few yellow leaves out there. And corn I’m going to say is probably ten days to two weeks (out).”
The Fremont County farmer tells Brownfield some farmers have started.
“I’m going to go out on a limb and say not a whole lot, maybe five or ten percent is out.”
Jardon says timely rains during the growing season helped and he’s hearing reports of corn yields around 200 bushels per acre with moisture in the high teens.
