Analysis from a state soybean organization says each ten-cent drop in soybean prices translates to big cash losses. Missouri Soybean communications director Christine Tew says every dime that comes off the soybean market means almost $25 million in lost cash receipts. “[Farmers are] seeing more than $2 drops in their soybean prices and they’re seeing significant declines in those cash receipts as we move through this marketing year,” Tew told Brownfield Ag News. Market Facilitation Program payments have helped, said Tew, but while foreign trade is in disarray, she said concentration shifts to domestic demand.
