Soybeans were modestly higher on short covering and technical buying, finishing the last session of 2019 in the black. President Trump says phase one of the trade deal with China will be signed January 15th. Details about China’s increased purchases of U.S. ag goods are hard to come by but could start to firm up as the date draws closer. Harvest is underway in part of Mato Grosso, Brazil, more than two weeks ahead of schedule.
