Soybeans were lower on fund and technical selling in fairly quiet pre-holiday trade. More new exports announced Thursday morning and weekly sales were a new marketing year high. The new sales were 257,000 tons of 2018/19 to unknown destinations, 204,000 tons of 2018/19 to China, and 100,000 tons of 2018/19 soybean meal to Colombia. China was the big weekly buyer, as expected, and trade rumors have more possible sales ahead of Christmas. But, the market seemed more focused on less threatening weather outlooks for South America and the very bearish outside markets.
