Soybeans were mixed, mostly steady to firm. It was an up and down day and while trade talks with China resume in October, no official date has been announced. 2019/20 soybean export inspections are behind 2018/19, with the export sales totals for the recently ended marketing year out Thursday. Soybean sales have seen a big impact from China’s tariff on U.S. beans and the increased competition from South America. China’s General Administration of Customs says soybean imports during August were 9.48 million tons, up on the month and the year after the delayed arrival of some previously purchased U.S.
