Soybeans were modestly higher on commercial and technical buying, recovering after some overnight losses. The trade continues to expect at least some increase in demand for U.S. agricultural goods, including soybeans, from China in the near future. It’s early, talks are ongoing, and there are several hurdles to clear before the true resumption of business between the world’s two largest economies. The date most frequently being talked about is January 1st, 2019, about the time Brazil’s old crop would be completely depleted, but ahead of most of the new crop hitting the market, even with the record pace of planting in Brazil.
