Soybeans were modestly lower on fund and technical selling. Trade negotiations between the U.S. and China have resumed and while there have been signs of progress, nothing’s official. Big sticking points for the U.S. continue to be tech and intellectual property issues. The spread of African swine fever will have some impact on Chinese bean and meal demand, but there are still a lot of unknowns. China has purchased more U.S. beans recently, but overall sales continue to lag as Beijing relies on South America, especially Brazil.
