Soybeans finished the session lower despite a Saturday tweet from President Trump claiming big progress on trade talks with China. Even if China is buying, the federal government shut-down is preventing release of the usual export sales information. So far this marketing year, soybean export inspections are down 42 percent. DTN says crops in Brazil are showing the effects of hot and dry weather creating doubts about big soybean production in Brazil.
Corn ended the Monday session mostly higher, although nearby corn futures were lower.
