Soybeans mostly higher on demand expectations

Soybeans were mostly modestly higher on spread adjustments, posting a solid week to week gain. Beans remain cautiously optimistic about the trade deal with China and expected increase in purchases. Phase one of the agreement is expected to be signed in January. A Chinese firm thinks Beijing will buy 45 million tons of U.S. soybeans annually, with a value of $18.675 billion. Overall purchases are expected to top $40 billion in a year, which is considerably larger than pre-trade war levels.
