Soybeans were modestly higher on short covering and technical buying. There’s continued optimism about phase one of the trade deal with China, which could be signed in the coming weeks. China has been buying U.S. beans recently, but the reported amounts have been routine. The USDA’s weekly export sales numbers are delayed until Friday and this week’s update will cover the first full week since the agreement on phase one of the trade deal.
