Spring delays leave no summer break for central Iowa farm family

Spring planting delays voided any summer break for one central Iowa farm family.

Corey Hillebo of Polk City says their workload has been spread out all summer long.

“We were busy all summer. Dad missed his vacation he had planned. We were just in the sprayer all the time, and I think it’s going to be the same for harvest.”

He tells Brownfield some corn was planted April 20th, then rain halted progress until a two-day window opened in mid-May.
