Less than half of the winter wheat in South Dakota is rated good to excellent in USDA’s first crop progress report of the season.
USDA says 47% of the winter wheat is rated good to excellent and spring wheat planting is starting at 1% complete. Oat planting is 10% complete.
Topsoil moisture is rated 61% good to excellent. Subsoil moisture conditions are rated 57% good to excellent.
